Melissa straightened.
“Because Lauren does interfere.”

“She undermines me.”
“Give me an example.”
Melissa looked at me.
“She bought Ethan a phone without asking me.”
“That phone appears to be the one he used to make the recordings.”

“And now you see exactly why I objected to it.”
